More than likely you’ll need to have your Muffler replaced or repaired.  The majority of time we find that we have to replace the muffler.  The muffler is an acoustic soundproofing apparatus for reducing the sound of the engine through acoustic. It is made up of set of chambers or pipes with a few holes in them.

A resonator cancels out a specific frequency of noise. Weird noises coming from your muffler can be a result of a bad resonator.  This increases low pressure which in return increases the noise output of your muffler.

The exhaust gases and the sound waves, on entering the center pipe, are bounced and let through the hole into the main body of the muffler. On reaching it, they again undergo another set of holes in the next room to turn and leave the muffler from the previous pipe.   The Muffler dictates the noise coming from the rear of your vehicle.

Exhaust is near the engine. Many times we can solve your problem by repairing your exhaust pipe. Other times we have to replace your entire exhaust system. If you are hearing an unusual noise near the front underbody of the engine it could very well be your exhaust. Make sure to give us a call right away so we can have our ASE Certified Master Mechanics diagnosis the problem for you.  An exhaust system is a pair of piping used to maintain the exhaust gases from a controlled combustion within the engine.
